An early morning visit to avoid the predicted heavy rain provided the following species of note:-
Little Grebe (8), Green Sandpiper (3 from rotunda hide), Kingfisher (1), Swallow (10 over briefly), Reed Warbler (pair still present feeding young from rotunda hide), Chiffchaff (4), Jay (2).
There was no sigh this morning of the 3 Greenshank that Joan Thompson noted yesterday.
At Lynsters Gravel Pit 2 pairs of Great-crested Grebe and a single pair of Moorhen were present with young.
